Thank you to Fr. Clive as he steps down as Rural Dean
After Choral Evensong on a Sunday afternoon in early August, the Deanery Lay Chair, Canon Anne Prentis, made a presentation on behalf of the deanery to acknowledge Fr. Clive Wylie's period as Rural Dean. It was a wonderful occasion with representatives from all of Fr. Clive's parishes and from across the deanery attending. Thank you to North Creake for hosting this occasion.
Norfolk Churches Trust Annual Bike Ride 2025
Keith Osborn, one of our South Creake parishioners, will be cycling a circuit of the benefice churches to raise money for the parish and NCT on Saturday, 13th September. Join in the Choral Evensong Harvest Thanksgiving at the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin North Creake on Sunday, 7 September at 5pm. Wine and canapés will be served after the service.
Beyond the Pigpen: From Rebellion to Reconciliation
Fr Clive will lead a Day Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham on Saturday, 13th September. The programme will commence at 9.30am with an address in the Barn Chapel and will include Mass and Sprinkling in the Shrine Church before ending with a short time of prayer and reflection at 4pm. Everyone is welcome. Please invite your friends and any who may be interested. A detailed programme will be available in due course.
Come Enjoy the South Creake Strings!
The staff and pupils from South Creake Strings will be performing a concert on Wednesday, 27th August at 7.30pm in The Church of Our Lady Saint Mary, South Creake. This concert is a firm favourite each year, with a varied programme and excellent musicians. There will be a retiring collection in aid of church funds. Everyone is welcome!
New Dates for the Contemplative Prayer Group
For over a year, a group from across the Creakes Benefice and beyond it have been meeting at The Church of Saint Mary Syderstone for contemplative prayer. Contemplative prayer is a form of silent prayer that is focused on experiencing God’s loving kindness through quiet, gentle attention. This form of prayer has a deep and rich tradition within Christianity. Meetings are at 4pm on the second Tuesday of the month. Coffee, cake, and fellowship follow.
Believing with the Body — A Talk by Fr. George Guiver
Building on the excellent lectures of previous years we are delighted to have Fr George Guiver CR as our speaker this October. Fr George is a monk with The Community of the Resurrection in Mirfield and the author of several books. His latest book is 'All Christians are Monks: The Monastery, the Parish and the Renewal of the Church'. This is a talk not to be missed and everyone is encouraged to attend, especially PCC members and those who will be involved
Open Studio and Exhibition of Recent Work Fundraiser
Come along to Debbie Osborn's Open Studio and Exhibition of Recent Work on Saturday, 12 July. It will be open all day from 10am -- see poster for details. Funds raised from all work sold will be donated to Our Lady Saint Mary South Creake.
